By installing and using CryptoScan — Cryptocurrency Wallet Scanner ("CryptoScan", "the Extension", "Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this Service.
2. Description of Service
CryptoScan is a browser extension that helps users analyze cryptocurrency wallet addresses for potential security risks. The Service provides:
- Multi-chain address scanning and risk assessment
- Real-time web page scanning for cryptocurrency addresses
- Watchlist monitoring with balance change notifications
- Access to a database of known malicious addresses
- On-chain data retrieval from public blockchain explorers
3. License Grant
CryptoScan grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. This license does not include the right to:
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service
- Modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on the Service
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or branding
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Use automated systems to extract data from the Service at scale
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
IMPORTANT: CryptoScan is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Specifically:
- CryptoScan does not guarantee the accuracy of risk scores or threat detection
- A "safe" risk score does not guarantee an address is trustworthy
- A "high risk" score does not definitively indicate malicious activity
- The scam database may not contain all known malicious addresses
- On-chain data may be delayed or temporarily unavailable
CryptoScan is a tool to assist your decision-making, not a replacement for due diligence. Always conduct your own research before sending cryptocurrency to any address.
5. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall CryptoScan, its developers, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of cryptocurrency, profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service. This includes situations where you relied on CryptoScan's risk assessment and still experienced a loss.
6. User Responsibilities
By using CryptoScan, you agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Not rely solely on CryptoScan for financial decisions
- Conduct independent verification before any cryptocurrency transaction
- Keep your browser and the extension up to date
- Report any bugs, vulnerabilities, or inaccuracies you discover
7. Third-Party Services
CryptoScan integrates with third-party blockchain explorer APIs to retrieve on-chain data. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services. Your use of these services through CryptoScan is subject to their respective terms of service.
8. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in CryptoScan, including but not limited to the software, design, branding, and documentation, are owned by CryptoScan. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or brand features without prior written consent.
9. Termination
You may stop using CryptoScan at any time by uninstalling the extension. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. Upon termination, all locally stored data will be deleted when you uninstall the extension.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, through the extension or our website. Continued use of CryptoScan after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which CryptoScan operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
